Why milk is better for your muscles than a sport drink
August 23rd 2008
A study from Northumbria University published in the Applied Physiology, Nutrition and Metabolism journal has found that milk can help the body recover after exercise.
The findings showed that milk helps rebuild muscles after they are damaged during physical activity and has more effect than popular sports drinks. Milk limits exercise-induced muscle damage by providing protein and carbohydrate which may stop the protein being broken down.
