Tips For Trimming Fat and Pounds

On average people consumes 40 percent of calories from fat. Read food labels for fat content. To reduce fat do the following.

* Reduce the serving size of red meat
* Substitute red meat for poultry or fish
* Trim meats visible fat
* Use nonfat or low fat dairy products
* Avoid pastries
* Cut back eating potato chips and crackers
* Replace mayonnaise on sandwiches with mustard or nonfat yogurt
* Use less butter
* Avoid fried foods
